The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
