The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
