The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
