The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
