So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 Fear God and do not shame me." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
