Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
