Al-Najm 3 of 3
HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
