Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By oath of the sun and its light 1 and by the moon when she follows him, 2 By the Day as it shows up (the Sun's) glory; 3 and by the night when it enshrouds him! 4 And by the heaven and Him Who built it; 5 The earth and its spreading out, 6 And a soul and Him Who perfected it 7 And given the faculty of knowing what is disruptive and what is intrinsic to it. 8 prosperous is he who purified it, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing, 11 When the most wretched of them was sent forth. 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]. 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
