Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
