The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
