Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were closed up, but We have opened them; and We have made of water everything living, will they not then believe? 30 And [are they not aware that] We have set up firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with them, and [that] We have appointed thereon broad paths, so that they might find their way, 31 We established the heaven as a well protected roof, yet they still turn away from its signs. 32 And He it is Who hath created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orb floating. 33 We made no mortal before you immortal. Will they become immortal after you die? 34 Every soul shall taste of death; and We try you with evil and good for a testing, then unto Us you shall be returned. 35 When the Unbelievers see thee, they treat thee not except with ridicule. "Is this," (they say), "the one who talks of your gods?" and they blaspheme at the mention of (Allah) Most Gracious! 36 Man is a creature of haste. Soon I will show you My signs, but do not ask Me to hasten them. 37 Yet they say: "When will the promised threat come to pass, if you speak the truth?" 38 If only the disbelievers realised the time when they will not be able to stop the fire from their faces and from their backs – and nor are they to be helped. 39 Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved. 40 And certainly apostles before you were scoffed at, then there befell those of them who scoffed that at which they had scoffed. 41
