The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 This is the exalted Book (the Qur’an), in which there is no place for doubt; a guidance for the pious. 2 Those who believe without seeing (the hidden), and keep the (obligatory) prayer established, and spend in Our cause from what We have bestowed upon them. 3 And who believe in that which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) and that which was revealed before thee, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. 5 As for those who have rejected (these things), it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they are not going to believe. 6 God has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a covering, and there awaits them a mighty chastisement. 7
