The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
