T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 only as reminder for those who have fear (of disobeying God). 3 It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. 4 the All Merciful settled on the throne. 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 And if thou speakest the word aloud, then verily He knoweth the secret and the most hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
