The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Their reckoning draweth nigh for mankind, while they turn away in heedlessness. 1 Whenever a new revelation comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it in a playful manner, 2 Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 Nay, but they say: 'A hotchpotch of nightmares! Nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet! Now therefore let him bring us a sign, even as the ancient ones were sent as Messengers.' 5 Of the villages We destroyed, there was not one that believed. What, will they not believe? 6 And We sent none before thee, but men to whom We made revelation -- question the People of the Remembrance, if you do not know -- 7 And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. 8 In the end, We made good unto them Our promise, and We saved them and all whom We willed [to save,] and We destroyed those who had wasted their own selves. 9 We have revealed a Book to you which is admonition for you. Will you not then understand? 10
