The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away. 1 Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play, 2 In sport being their hearts. And those who do wrong keep secret their private discourse this is but a human being like unto yourselves; will ye then betake yourselves to magic while ye know? 3 The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". 4 Nay, but they say: 'A hotchpotch of nightmares! Nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet! Now therefore let him bring us a sign, even as the ancient ones were sent as Messengers.' 5 The people of the town whom We had destroyed also had no faith. Will these people then believe in God? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
