The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
