And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, you will certainly be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 The messenger said, "My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me." 39 He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting. 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No nation can live beyond its allotted time, or lag behind. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after the other. Every time an apostle came to a people they denied him. So We made one follow the other (to its doom), and turned them into bygone tales. Cursed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
