Thamud denied the messengers 141 When their brother Saleh said to them: "Will you not take heed?" 142 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 143 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 145 Will you be left secure in this here, 146 In these gardens and these springs, 147 The fields of corn and date-palm trees with soft and tender spathes, 148 "And you carve houses out of mountains with great skill. 149 Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me, 150 "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,- 151 who do corruption in the earth, and set not things aright.' 152 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 153 You are but a human like ourselves. Produce for us a sign, if you are of the truthful' 154 He said: yonder is a she-camel; to her a drink, and to you a drink, each on a day known. 155 Do not cause her to suffer lest you become subject to the torment of the great day (of Judgment)." 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 and torment struck them. In this there is evidence of the Truth, yet many people do not have any faith. 158 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 159
