The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
