The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels ranged in ranks. 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 By the angels reciting the praise. 3 surely, your God is One, 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21
