The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21
