Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
