The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the star when it sets: 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he misguided, 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 It is but a revelation revealed. 4 something that a very mighty one has imparted to him: 5 The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. 6 standing poised at the highest point on the horizon, 7 Then he approached and descended 8 he was but two bows' length or even nearer, 9 When He revealed to His votary what He revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - 14 Near it is the Paradise of Abode. 15 (This was) when the lote-tree was covered with that which covered it. 16 His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, 17 He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have you considered El-Lat and El-'Uzza 19 as well as [in] Manat, the third and last [of this triad]? 20 What! unto you the males and unto Him the females? 21 That is indeed an unjust division. 22 They are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! 23 Does man imagine that whatever he wishes for is right for him? 24 Allah's is the last and the first. 25
