And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
