And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
