Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
