The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
