Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 What though they would say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they would be helped, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
