Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned. 8 If thou askest them, 'Who created the heavens and earth?' they will say, 'The All-mighty, the All-knowing created them.' 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
