And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 These people say, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
