Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
