Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say, "Wait, I too am waiting with you". 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 Be patient, then, (O Prophet), until the judgement of your Lord comes. For surely you are before Our eyes. And celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise, 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
