Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
