The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 Has the [Divine] message been revealed to him alone of all of us? No, he is a boastful liar." 25 [And God said:] "On the morrow they will come to know who the boastful liar is! 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns). 28 But they called their companion who took a sword and hamstrung her. 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 Lot warned them of Our punishment, but they disputed the warnings -- 36 Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.” 37 And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 40

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
