The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 facing one another. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and extended shade, 30 And water gushing, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And made them virgins. 36 loving and of equal age. 37 for the people of the right hand 38
