a multitude of the ancients, 39 and many from the later generations. 40 The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 And the shade of black smoke, 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 And they used to say, “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?” 47 and perhaps, too, our forebears of old?" 48 Say: 'The ancients, and the later folk 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then you went astray, you that belied, 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 and thereupon you shall drink boiling water, 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital! 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Behold! that which ye emit. 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 We have incorporated death in your constitution, and We shall not be hindered 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 "We are ruined, 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 See ye the Fire which ye kindle? 71 Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 Then, exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
