۞ No! I swear by the fallings of the stars 75 and, behold, this is indeed a most solemn affirmation, if you but knew it! 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 which none can touch except the purified. 79 A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 Would you, now, look down with disdain on a tiding like this, 81 do you make it your provision to belie it? 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 and that hour you are watching 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed, 86 Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? 87 (If a dying soul) is of those near to God, 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he be of the fellows on the right hand, 90 'Peace be upon thee, Companion of the Right!' 91 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 92 then he will be served boiling water, 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96
