Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 a warning to humans, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 From the guilty. 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
