NAY, but consider the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 about the guilty ones: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 running away from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
