Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
