Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
