Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
