Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
