The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 He verily will be content. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
