Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
