Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
