In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
