Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
