The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 It will be a place of return 22 Living therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
